Baga Beach is north to the famous Calangute Beach and it is so close that someone may consider it as the northern part of the Calangute Beach. In fact tourist stays in Calangute city and from there they drive to Baga and Candolim. Baga Beach is famous for it's unspoiled natural beauty and The Baga River flowing one side of the beach. If you want to get relief from the crowd of the Calangute Beach, then visit Baga Beach. Baga is a small soft white sandy beach with shady palm grove on a headland and the sea here is safer for swimming and other watering activities. Night life in Baga is not live as like as Calangute but if you visit Tito’s – you will admire that here the night life could be charming also. Restaurant like Brittos and Fiesta are very good option for your dine and refreshment. If you are in Baga don’t forget to catch the Saturday night flea market along the beach road. Visit the Retreat House on the Baga hill adjacent to the beach. It was built in 1953 and dedicated to St. Francis Xavier. Some of the adventure liking tourist moves along the route to the other side of the Baga hill to reach Anjuna beach. People from other part of India visit medicinal springs at Mottant which is a good place for picnic and for bathing in the water of the spring is considered medicinal. Baga is also popular for sea cure to the Indians. During Mid of May many Indian visit Baga Beach and take bath in the sea which they consider as natural treatment for Arthritis and Back pain.


Safety Note: Baga Beach is safe for swimming and all sort of watering activities. While you swim stay close to the shore.

Where it is: Baga is located in Northern Goa. It is 16 km from state capital Panaji.

Journey Route: If you start from Panaji then it is 20 minutes drive. If you are coming from Mumbai then Stop at Mapusa from where it will take 15 minutes by bus to arrive Baga. Thivim is the nearest railhead. Dabolim is the nearest airport.

Tourist Season: From November to February. Huge crowd during Christmas and New Year.
